Our Mission

Presence equips children and parents with the skills to integrate Christian values into everyday lives. We are dedicated to helping families uphold Christian values and creating healthy communities based on service and leadership.  Our diverse and interactive programs guide participants by means of theater games, improvisation, skill-building workshops, community service projects and short term mission trips.

Our Goals
The goals of Presence Ministry are to train children to become leaders, teach parenting skills, encourage family involvement and participation to support the growth in children, and build up healthy communities.

Our History
Based on a vision given to Agnes Ip in April 2002, Presence Ministry was founded in September 2003 and later on established as a Christian non-profit organization in November 2004.

Our Faith Statement

All the Board of Directors, officers, and employees in this ministry accept the following statements of faith. We believe in:

1. The Unity of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in the Godhead.
2. The Sovereignty of God in creation, revelation, redemption and final judgment.
3. The divine inspiration and entire trustworthiness of Holy Scripture; as originally given, and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
4. The universal sinfulness and guilt of all men since the Fall, rendering them subject to God’s wrath and condemnation. 
5. Redemption from the guilt, penalty, dominion and pollution of sins, solely through the sacrificial death of the Lord Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God who is man’s only Representative and Substitute.
6. The bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead, and His ascension to the right hand of God the Father.
7. The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration.
8. The justification of the sinner by the grace of God through faith alone.
9. The gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ the Lord to the Saved, and the eternal punishment of the unsaved.
10. The indwelling of the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit in the believer.
11. The only Holy Universal Church which is the Body of Christ and to which all true believers belong.
12. The certain expectation of the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
13. Marriage is only between a man and a woman.
14. All men are sinners. All sinners are loved by God, but they need God’s salvation grace. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

Core Concept

We are aware that children in the United States are undergoing a moral crisis. Sense of morality in children begins to consolidate at around age 8. However, their moral quotient may not be fully developed unless they are taught intentionally. Children learn morality at home by modeling of parents, from repetition and reinforcement. Therefore, we focus our Youth Leadership Training for children 8 years old and above.

Psychologist propose that a moral core is composed of three elements: empathy, conscience and self control.  Presence created its own core concept by enriching these three components to help enhancing moral decision-making skills.  Different training areas on emotional management, social skills, Christian values and ethics, the golden rule, problem solving skills, anger management and conflict resolution are added to help participants learn to develop their moral core.

The development of decision making in a child is gradually achieved through the interactions of his or her inner strength, parental role-modeling and supports, as well as spiritual guidance. Presence encourages families to serve and lead in their own circle of influence. Families will also learn to embrace their own cultural values and at the same time to build up respectful relationships and serve different cultural groups and society at large.
